###  How long has Servotest been in business?

Servotest was founded in 1958 as a test consultancy and has supplied multi-axis test systems since 1970. That history means its engineers have experience with both modern and long-established test rigs.

###  What types of test systems does Servotest build?

Servotest builds 4-post, 7-post and 8-post vehicle ride simulators, damper and shock absorber test machines, steering assembly durability rigs, multi-axis simulation tables (MAST), seismic shake tables, single-axis and bi-axial vibration systems, hexapods, and linear and rotary actuators. Many systems are custom-designed for a specific test requirement.

###  What is a 7-post rig?

A 7-post rig is a servo-hydraulic vehicle simulator that uses four-wheel actuators plus three additional actuators to reproduce aerodynamic downforce and inertial loads on a car. Servotest’s 7-post and 8-post rigs are widely used in motorsport, including Formula 1, to tune suspension and set-up without track time.

###  Does Servotest make damper test machines?

Yes. Servotest has developed servo-hydraulic damper test machines for over 35 years, including high-performance, multi-station and multi-axis damper systems for durability testing and characterisation.

###  Can Servotest build seismic or earthquake simulation systems?

Yes. Servotest supplies seismic shake tables and seismic MAST systems used to test structures, components and equipment against earthquake motion, including for civil engineering research and regulated industries.

###  What is Pulsar?

Pulsar is Servotest’s multi-channel digital servo-control system. It runs Servotest test rigs and can also be retrofitted to older Servotest and third-party systems to give them modern control and data acquisition.

###  What services does Servotest offer?

Servotest offers maintenance contracts, calibration, operator training, spare parts, system refurbishment and digital control retrofits for servo-hydraulic test systems.

###  Does Servotest support test rigs from other manufacturers?

Yes. Servotest can upgrade and support third-party servo-hydraulic test rigs, including retrofitting them with Pulsar digital control, which extends the working life of existing equipment without the cost of a full replacement.

###  Can an old test rig be upgraded instead of replaced?

In many cases, yes. Servotest’s refurbishment and digital control retrofit services can bring an older rig up to current performance and software standards, often at a fraction of the cost of a new system.
